The concept of #homecookedheroes came to mind during our ongoing period of ‘lockdown’ here on the island.
One thing we all enjoy is food. We love restaurants, cooking, looking at images of food or simply just talking about it.

As the Ghosts and Ghouls of the White Isle will be summoned to enjoy an evening of food and dance under the Balearic stars.
Everyone’s invited, dead or alive!

We love Camden. It’s trendy, funky and full of the weird and wonderful.
It has changed drastically over the last two decades. Pop up street food stalls and huts have become the staple of the Lock, with a range of cuisines available from all over the world.
We’re big fans of TexMex food. We like the fusion between Mexico & America with all of their spices, sauces and flavours.
It’s one of our favourites!
Lockside Camden is a well established eat-in restaurant and bar. Perfect for me to relax. Located on the upper walkway inside The Lock, it been open since 2005 and had a refurbishment in January of this year.
With a large outside area overlooking the Lock, it’s great during the warmer months. The perfect spot to enjoy food and a few drinks while you watch the world go by.
Most recently they’ve branched upon a fresh TexMex theme with their ‘Evil Twin’ brand delivering fresh, authentic food bursting with flavour from their creative kitchen.
The chefs are energetic, enthusiastic and bubbly. Just what you want from this type of area.
We sat down at the back of the restaurant after ordering our drinks from the bar. Nattering away about what a fantastic location it was, and checking out the quirky artwork on the walls.
Within a very reasonable time our food arrived!
A wooden serving board packed with a fabulous array of foods arrived at our table and we tucked straight in!
The Pork belly was AMAZING! Cooked just right, the juicy flavours just melted in our mouths!
The wings? We love a wing and these were by far some of the best we’ve ever tasted!
Jalapeño Poppers are no doubt going to have a kick about them and these were kickin’ for all the right reasons!
Very moreish.
And finally the cheesy Nachos…YES, just YES!
The food is tasty, fresh and bursting in flavours and the Kimchi & Guac tortilla was by far our favourite!
They also do some fantastic looking Burgers too!
The vibe is edgy yet chilled, the food is delicious and the drinks are cold. What more could you want from an afternoon in Camden Town?

So after much anticipation, Turkish/Mediterranean restaurant Pivaz have finally opened their third venue in the famous town of Brentwood, Essex.
We arranged for the Mayor of Brentwood, Councillor Will Russell officially opened Pivaz last Friday with a traditional ‘cutting the the ribbon’ to welcome a beautiful new addition to the area.
The family owned business have seriously upped their game in terms of decor and size, with Pivaz Brentwood being their biggest venture yet. If you think their Epping restaurant is amazing, then you have to check this one out!
The incredible eatery boasts two spacious floors filled with glamorously plush furniture and lighting, excellent cocktails and mouthwatering, authentic cuisine straight from the motherland. A number of the restaurant’s chefs have even moved over from Turkey, especially to join the ever growing Pivaz team!
It’s been open less than a week and it’s doors have already welcomed a few homegrown favourites from the cast of The Only Way is Essex!
Gemma Collins attended the opening night with friends, along with Ex On The Beach star Jordan Wright who enjoyed an evening of drinks, food and live music from Flamenco guitarist Leo Alma.
Essex boy and Model Zak Smith also dined at the affluent eatery on Friday night as well as a number of popular influencers and bloggers!
Since the opening, the lovely Gemma Collins has returned, this time with Megan McKenna, Pete Wicks & Amber Turner from The Only Way is Essex in tow to enjoy everything that the tasty new venue has to offer!
It seems that Pivaz Brentwood has already made it onto the map and it’s rightly deserved. The amount of time spent on somewhere that was originally meant to open in December has paid off in such an fantastic way.
Pivaz is great for romantic nights out, dining with friends & family and is the perfect spot for hosting spectacular parties!
